AWS, Amazon Web Services India Cloud Division, To Invest Rs 1,05,600 Crore In India By 2030

Amazon Internet Providers (AWS), the cloud division of e-commerce large Amazon, has introduced its intention to take a position Rs 1,05,600 crore ($12.7 billion) into cloud infrastructure in India by 2030. Rajeev Chandrashekhar, the Minister of State for Electronics and Data Know-how, said that the funding aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India imaginative and prescient, which has been instrumental in driving the expansion of cloud and knowledge centres in India. The minister welcomed AWS’s funding and emphasised that the Ministry of Electronics and Data Know-how (MeitY) is actively engaged on a Cloud and Information Middle Coverage to foster innovation, sustainability, and development in India’s cloud trade.

AWS operates two knowledge centre areas in India: the AWS Asia Pacific (Mumbai) Area, launched in 2016, and the AWS Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) Area, launched in November 2022. Between 2016 and 2022, AWS invested greater than Rs 30,900 crore ($3.7 billion) within the AWS Asia Pacific (Mumbai) Area, contributing over Rs 38,200 crore ($4.6 billion) to India’s GDP throughout that interval and supporting roughly 39,500 jobs yearly.
